Olive Garden parent Darden Restaurants demonstrated that again on Thursday morning when it released pleasing financial results and encouraging guidance. It continues to pull ahead of the casual-dining chain pack by getting more customers in the door than peers in a tough economic environment. Darden reported that same restaurant sales during its fiscal third quarter rose by 11.7%, handily beating analyst consensus based on data from FactSet .
